This event was organised by AMU and JMI Bay Area Alumni Association and hosted by Mrs Talat Hasan & Prof. Kamil Hasan in India Culture Centre in Milpitas, (near San Francisco) California, USA on 8th October 2022.
Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia- Padma Shri Prof Najma Akhtar- was the chief guest and was given a warm welcome by AMU Alumni Association and JMI Alumni Connect Cell members.
In her speech Prof. Akhtar introduced the recent advancements of JMI in National and international academic arena. She informed the alumni that in 2021-22 JMI progressed a lot in the Research activities, got accredited with the most coveted grade A++ by NACC, and figures now among top three universities of India. She welcomed the idea of close collaboration of JMI & AMU Alumni for better and closer collaborative development of education in the sister universities.
Prof. Akhtar appealed the JMI Alumni present in the event to come forward and join their hands for the betterment of JMI students through close collaborations, mentoring in any form (online or offline), handholding in curating the future of the students by means and matter. She invited the Alumni to be the part of developmental activities of JMI in the best possible way to evolve new concepts and programs for creating an industry-ready workforce in consonance with the 21st Century needs and rapidly changing technologies. She also announced an elaborate Worldwide Alumni Meet which will happen positively in February-March, 2023 in JMI campus, she invited the alumni to attend this function to India.
