Jamia Millia Islamia emerges as 3rd top university of the country: NIRF-2022
Dear Alumni of Jamia Millia Islamia, you will be ecstatic to know that your university, a NAAC A++ accredited has secured 3rd rank among all the universities in the Ministry of Education’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)-2022 Rankings released by the Hon’ble Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan on 15th July. It is also a matter of pride that your Alma mater has achieved this feat all the way a jump from 6th rank last year to 3rd rank this year. The university has improved its position significantly in the ‘research’ category where it secured 19th rank improving its position from 30th in NIRF 2021. The university also improved its position in Architecture, Engineering, Dental and Management category and maintained its position in Law.
Expressing her delight on the landmark achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar said, “By the grace of Almighty JMI has been climbing up the ladder persistently”. The university has been making consistent efforts to improve the quality of teaching, learning and research. In NIRF rankings we have progressed from 83rd rank in 2016 to 12th rank in 2018 to 10th rank in 2020 to 6th rank in 2021 and now figures among three top universities of India.
Dear Alumni, one of the important factor attributed to this achievement is the improved perception about the university with regard to teaching, placements, and research. This would not have been possible without impressions that our alumni have been putting up in their organizations, governments ad institutions.
Under the able leadership of Padamshree awardee Professor Najma Akhtar the university has become one of the sought after institutions by the students and the increase in the number of applications is a testimony to it. We hope that we all shall keep marching ahead with commitment, integrity and humbles.
